The University of Toronto Press, a longtime partner in the Books at JSTOR program, has joined JSTOR’s Evidence-Based Acquisition (EBA) model. It is contributing more than 4,400 backlist ebooks to EBA.

Founded in 1901, University of Toronto Press is one of the largest university presses in North America, with particular strengths in the social sciences, humanities, and business. Its titles record high demand and usage on JSTOR in the disciplines of Language & Literature, History, Political Science, Sociology, and Philosophy, among others.

With the addition of University of Toronto Press’s ebooks, JSTOR’s EBA model now offers more than 58,000 high-quality backlist titles from 95 publishers. In EBA, libraries receive unlimited access to this content for a set upfront fee; at the end of the access period, they select titles to acquire using the usage data as a guide. While the content in EBA continues to grow, there are no additional costs to library participants for titles added during the access period.

Libraries can join the current EBA access period ending June 30, 2021 for a low cost and with no ongoing commitment.
