Yeshiva University is moving to JSTOR Digital Stewardship Services as a Tier 2 participant, selecting JSTOR’s unified platform to manage, preserve, and provide access to its distinctive digital collections.
The transition follows Yeshiva’s hands-on evaluation of JSTOR Stewardship, and reflects the university’s interest in moving to a fully supported, cloud-hosted platform. Through Tier 2, Yeshiva will gain integrated digital asset management, long-term preservation through Portico, and access and discovery through JSTOR.
Yeshiva will engage JSTOR’s professional migration services to move materials from its current Islandora environment to JSTOR. The migration will include collections documenting Jewish religious, cultural, intellectual, and communal life, with highlights spanning rare manuscripts, Rabbi Norman Lamm’s sermons and lectures, historic cantorial music, New York City synagogue bulletins, Soviet Jewry oral histories and posters, and materials from Yeshiva University’s institutional archives. Bringing these collections into JSTOR Stewardship will support their long-term care while creating new opportunities for discovery and use.
