SUNY Morrisville is joining the charter program of JSTOR Digital Stewardship Services, a collaborative initiative designed to help institutions expand the impact of their distinctive collections through responsible, scalable approaches to digital stewardship.
Known for its applied, hands-on approach to education, SUNY Morrisville has been steadily building digital collections that document both campus history and the surrounding region. Through the charter program, the college will use JSTOR Stewardship to build on this foundation and advance the next phase of its work. In addition to managing, preserving, and sharing collections within a single environment, SUNY Morrisville will gain access to JSTOR Seeklight for AI-assisted collections processing. Potential early projects include expanding access to campus and local history materials, assessing the Lee Brown Coye collection for digitization, and reviewing additional collections that have not yet been prepared for online access.
As a charter participant, SUNY Morrisville will be eligible for dedicated grant funding to help advance digitization of its collections. The college will join a peer community working to increase the reach and value of digital collections while helping shape the responsible use of AI through shared practice, feedback, and working groups.

There’s a lot of positive momentum at Morrisville right now, and this feels like a great opportunity to build on our history while looking toward the future.”
