Libraries and archives hold distinctive collections with enormous potential for research, teaching, and discovery. But realizing that potential requires more than making materials digitally available. From digitization and processing practices to preservation and discovery platforms, many of the workflows and systems supporting this work were designed for a different technological environment.
Join JSTOR for a conversation about what it means to activate distinctive collections for greater discovery, access, and impact. We’ll explore how libraries can rethink traditional workflows and infrastructure, hear how institutions are approaching this work in practice, and consider what becomes possible when digitization, processing, preservation, and discovery are treated as parts of a more connected strategy. We’ll also share how JSTOR is investing in this work—including funding to help institutions advance digitization projects—and show how JSTOR Stewardship and JSTOR Seeklight can help move collections from potential to use.
