The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) will join JSTOR Digital Stewardship Services as a Tier 3 charter program participant, expanding its partnership with JSTOR and helping shape the future of responsible, scalable digital collections stewardship.

An early partner in JSTOR’s collections stewardship programs, UAH already shares more than 5,000 items across 70+ collections on the JSTOR platform. The university’s holdings include institutional archives and special collections documenting aerospace and flight history, science-fiction literature, local and regional politics, and the history and culture of Alabama’s Tennessee River Valley.

By joining the Tier 3 charter program, UAH will gain access to JSTOR Seeklight, the AI-powered collections processing tool within Stewardship, and will participate in a collaborative cohort. Through working groups, user testing, and regular discussions, UAH will help refine JSTOR Seeklight’s functionality, contribute to shared practices, and test new features designed to support mission-aligned stewardship.

“We’re very much looking forward to joining the charter program and getting started with JSTOR Seeklight,” said David P. Moore, Director of the Library at UAH. “JSTOR’s stewardship services are an exciting addition, and we’re eager to begin implementing them to expand access to our collections.”

“UAH has been involved in what is now JSTOR Stewardship since the early pilot period,” said Jessica Clemons, Director of Business Development, JSTOR Stewardship. “We’re pleased to deepen our partnership through the charter program and excited to have UAH among the leaders in our collaborative community of stewardship innovators.”
