The Evergreen State College has joined JSTOR Digital Stewardship Services as part of the Tier 3 charter program, partnering with JSTOR to build a sustainable, unified home for its digital collections, and help shape the next generation of stewardship tools and practices.

Evergreen will use JSTOR’s integrated digital asset management and preservation environment to bring together materials previously dispersed across several Omeka S sites. With support from JSTOR’s professional migration services, the college has begun by relocating high-priority collections, including the Cooper Point Journal (Evergreen’s student newspaper and a primary record of campus history), oral history projects, and campus art and poster collections. Ultimately, Evergreen will use JSTOR Stewardship as an institutional repository

As a Tier 3 charter participant, Evergreen also gains access to JSTOR Seeklight, the AI-assisted collections processing tool within Stewardship. Through working groups, prototype testing, and community discussions, Evergreen will contribute to the evolution of JSTOR Seeklight and the broader stewardship environment.

“We’re excited to strengthen preservation and create a more cohesive experience for our community with our move to JSTOR Stewardship,” said Grant Mandarino, College Archivist at The Evergreen State College.

Jess Clemons, Director of Business Development, JSTOR Stewardship, added: “Evergreen brings a thoughtful, mission-aligned vision to digital stewardship. Their leadership will help us demonstrate what a unified, sustainable approach to managing collections can look like.”
