Creighton University will become part of the Tier 3 charter program of JSTOR Digital Stewardship Services, a collaborative initiative dedicated to developing scalable tools for responsible, sustainable digital collections stewardship.

As a charter participant, Creighton will gain access to JSTOR Seeklight, the AI-powered collections processing tool within Stewardship, and will play an active role in shaping future functionality and shared practices through working groups, user testing, and regular cohort discussions. Creighton plans to use JSTOR Seeklight to work through their processing backlog, prepare for the 150th anniversary of their founding in 2028, and offer enhanced support to faculty, students, and others. They also look forward to using built-in publishing capabilities to share their collections directly on the JSTOR platform.

Michael Paulus, who leads the University Libraries at Creighton and several AI initiatives on campus, said: “It’s great to be joining this collaborative community, and to have the opportunity to continue to lead in the responsible integration of AI at Creighton.” University Archivist Peterson Brink added,  “We are eager to use this system to broaden access to our distinctive collections as we reach a significant milestone in university history.”

“Creighton is committed to finding ways to use new technologies to advance their mission and library goals,” said Jess Clemons, Director of Business Development, JSTOR Stewardship. “They bring expertise in this area to the charter community, and we are eager to experiment and learn alongside them.”
