Notable titles include the Journal of the Royal Musical Association, The Musical Quarterly, and The Musical Times, the oldest continuously published music journal in the world, founded in 1844. The collection also features publications from musical societies around the world, such as the Société Française de Musicologie and the Royal Society for Music History of the Netherlands.

The collection contains religion journals with long back runs, with four journals in publication for over a century. Important titles include The Jewish Quarterly Review, established in 1889, and the Journal of Biblical Literature, published since 1881.
