Thanks for your interest in collaborating with JSTOR! This is a great opportunity to share your expertise in teaching and contribute valuable insights to our academic community through the JSTOR Blog or JSTOR Daily. Let’s work together to create impactful educational content. Compensation is available.

To get a sense of what collaboration looks like, explore these examples:

Before submitting your draft, please review the guidelines below:

  1. Audience: JSTOR values education at all levels. We encourage drafts geared toward higher education and secondary school audiences for the widest possible relevance.
  2. Language: We currently accept drafts in English only.
  3. Residency and compensation: Authors must be U.S. residents with a valid U.S. residential address to receive compensation. Unfortunately, we are unable to compensate non-U.S. residents at this time.
  4. Content focus: Submissions should provide value to educators and scholars and should not be promotional (e.g., self-promotion of research, publications, or business interests).
  5. Citations: Please hyperlink sources directly within the text. A bibliography is not required.
  6. Length and media: Blog posts typically range from 1,500 to 2,500 words, but we are open to longer pieces or a series. You may include original images (photos, screenshots) or free and open access images from shared collections, Reveal Digital, or Artstor on JSTOR.
  7. Draft acceptance: We welcome diverse ideas, but not all submissions will be published. We prioritize content that demonstrates how JSTOR, Artstor on JSTOR, shared collections, Reveal Digital, JSTOR Daily, or their unique tools and features can support instructors, librarians, and students in their teaching and research.
  8. Publication process: Accepted drafts undergo copyediting before publication. While we aim to publish accepted pieces, we cannot guarantee a specific publication date or placement on the JSTOR Blog or JSTOR Daily.
  9. Format and submission: Make a copy of this Google Doc template, set access to “Anyone with the link,” and submit your draft via this form. Only Google Docs will be accepted–Word and PDF submissions cannot be processed.

Submissions that do not follow our guidelines may not receive a response. For questions, contact educators@ithaka.org.

We look forward to showcasing your expertise and creative classroom ideas to inspire fellow educators!
