Note: Only authenticated users will be able to access articles found through search results generated by the search widget. Don't hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have, but please note that the code included here is provided as-is. JSTOR will not be responsible for supporting the Search Box code if alterations are made to it.

There are a few optional steps you can take to optimize the functionality.

SORIGIN: We have provided a space in the code for an optional origin parameter, as we would like to know which institutions are using the widget. Please insert the name of your institution, library, or webpage. (Note: The widget will still work without this site name inserted into the code, assuming the user is authenticated. See below for proxy info.)

Proxy: If you are currently using a proxy for off-site access to JSTOR, we have included instructions in the code to have the search box route through your proxy. This will be helpful for users who will still need to authenticate in order to access JSTOR content.

Count: We have also provided a means to control the number of results displayed per page on the JSTOR site if so desired. This is not required but can be useful if you would like to see more or less results than the current default setting of 25 per page.
