Participation Fees for Community Colleges (U.S. and International)
As with all JSTOR participants, community colleges have a participation fee structure that includes two fees: an Archive Capital Fee (ACF) and an Annual Access Fee (AAF). The ACF is a one-time-only fee designed to ensure that JSTOR has the necessary resources to meet its archival obligations as technology evolves. The AAF helps cover the recurring costs of updating the archive and maintaining access and support services for participating institutions.
Some collections require a one-time Network Participation Fee rather than an Archive Capital Fee. The Network Participation Fee (if applicable) is used for purposes broadly associated with facilitating access and will be applied to the Archive Capital Fee assessed for multidisciplinary and discipline specific collections.
Archive Capital Fee (ACF)
Community Colleges contribute an ACF upon licensing their first JSTOR collection. No further ACF is required with the licensing of subsequent collections.
| JSTOR Classification | Archive Capital Fee |
|---|---|
| Community College | $1,000 |
Annual Access Fees (AAF)
The Annual Access Fee is required and varies by collection. The AAF helps cover the recurring costs of updating the archive and maintaining access and support services for on-campus library users as well as off-campus users via your institution's access and authentication system.

Annual Access Fees (AAF) for the Ireland Collection
The Ireland Collection, developed in cooperation with Queen's University Belfast, is an interdisciplinary collection of journals and other materials. At its expected completion in 2009, it will contain a minimum of 75 journals, including journals with moving walls between 1 and 5 years and ceased journals from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. Over 200 monographs and 2,500 manuscript pages will also be included. Complementing JSTOR's existing collections, the Ireland Collection adds titles and resources across the arts, humanities, and sciences in disciplines such as music, art, history, literature, archaeology, mathematics, and biology. Materials span from the 1780s to the present. The content is international in scope, while also providing a rich focus on Ireland. The Ireland Collection was created with funding from the JISC Digitisation Programme.

Annual Access Fees (AAF) for the 19th Century British Pamphlets Collection
This collection, created by RLUK (Research Libraries UK), contains the most significant British pamphlets from the 19th century held in UK research libraries. Pamphlets were an important means of public debate, covering the key political, social, technological, and environmental issues of their day. They have been underutilized within research and teaching because they are generally quite difficult to access – often bound together in large numbers or otherwise hard to find in the few research libraries that hold them. The digitization of more than 20,000 pamphlets from seven UK institutions will provide researchers, students, and teachers with an immensely rich and coherent corpus of primary sources with which to study the socio-political and economic landscape of 19th century Britain. This collection was created with funding from the JISC Digitisation Programme. Read more about this project.
