The University of Hawaiʻi system was looking for an affordable, sustainable, and equitable way to provide scholarly digital content to its ten institutions, including five community colleges. In partnership with JSTOR, they expanded access to the complete archive collection for a reasonable cost with no ongoing fees across two- and four-year institutions throughout the islands of Hawaiʻi. The university system now provides JSTOR access to just under 50,000 students and 15,000 faculty.
