Books

Books at JSTOR makes scholarly monographs from a number of leading university presses and other academic publishers available on the JSTOR platform. Books are cross-searchable with the journal articles on JSTOR, and flexible purchase options for institutions are available.

The Corporate and For-Profit Research Institutions Collection serves all
for-profit, non-academic institutions.

Every institution begins at the Tier 1 AAF of $9,000 in its first year of participation. In each successive year, an institution’s AAF will be determined by measuring the number of significantly accessed journals it has registered during the previous 12-month period. After three years of participation, a 3-year average will be used. A journal is considered significantly accessed when it has received 50 significant accesses. A significant access registers when an article, or content, is accessed as a GIF or as a PDF. Users can determine whether an article has relevance to their research by viewing its abstract and citation information before accessing it.

The chart below provides a year-to-year illustration of the usage model over a 4 year period and how the AAF for an institution is determined. For further clarification, a detailed example follows it.
